The

Griffin Grill

FOOD. FRIENDS. FUN

Griffin Grill is in their 9th year serving the amazing community of Mission, Texas. We are proud to offer our community excellent food and customer service, which has consistently ranked in the top 3 restaurants in Mission. We combine an eclectic menu with an easy, but sophisticated setting, centrally located in Sharyland. As the creation of Chef Antonio Huerta and Co-Owner Richard Krauss, Griffin Grill reflects their passion for dining and customer satisfaction.

We wanted to open a restaurant that reflected our values – a place that offers a pleasant meal in a surrounding where people can just be themselves. They don’t have to dress fancy to get a fine, good-quality meal at a reasonable price. We’re not too pretentious with our food at all. We just want people to come in, have a good time, and enjoy themselves in a relaxed atmosphere.

Richard Krauss

Co-Owner, Griffin Grill

Richard has more than 25 years’ experience in the hospitality and restaurant business, having worked primarily in management for Hyatt Hotels.  Antonio previously owned a successful Italian restaurant in the Dallas area, Giuseppe’s, before moving with his family to the Rio Grande Valley. This is their first business venture together.

The Griffin Grill menu takes its inspiration mainly from classic American dishes, but they are creatively prepared, vibrantly presented, and influenced by cuisines from around the world. Whether it’s an All-American pancake breakfast or something enticing like sea bass in chipotle sauce, the Griffin Grill offers something for every palate at a no-frills price. Off-menu lunch specials are offered daily, prompting many customers to return frequently to see and taste what’s new.

An open ceiling, intimate booths, fresh flowers on every table, and an underpinning of jazz music enhance a mood conducive to conversation and fun for the whole family. Griffin Grill is open for breakfast and lunch, but beginning in early October, dinner will be served three days a week (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). Griffin Grill is destined to become a neighborhood fixture and a Rio Grande Valley destination for quality dining.

An Excellent Breakfast!

An excellent breakfast! I got the fried chicken and waffles, and not only was the food scrumptious, but the presentation was the nicest I'd seen locally! I also had an opportunity to try the chilaquiles. Great flavor, but the chips needed more crunch. Our service was great, the owner even answered our questions about a plant inside. Great place with good food and prices, will be returning.
I'd recommend trying this place out!

Starting off by saying, I’d recommend trying this place out! Best chicken and waffles I’ve had in a good while! The chicken was very flavorful and juicy. The waffles had a pleasant crunch and I appreciated the little side of berries. The biscuits and gravy were delightful. The biscuit itself was cooked very well with an outside crisp, but soft enough to use just a fork to cut. The gravy was a perfect balance-not too thick/not too watery, and I appreciated that the sausage was added on top so I would have the option to say no sausage. The smallest note-we waited to be seated a little longer than I expected because the placement of the stand and a wall does not allow them to know when or how long people are waiting. I’m here just visiting, but the next time I visit I definitely plan to come by again!
Great salads, salmon & sea bassJanet Edmondson
Wonderful presentation on all dishes and hubby said lunch pasta specials are great! Will dine here again soon. Loved it! Newer small restaurant that just started opening in the evenings.

Stopped in for late breakfast on a Saturday. The staff was very friendly, especially our waitress, Gina. Nice menu with very affordable prices. The food was very good, steak and eggs, country omelet. Gina kept our coffee cups full and was very attentive to our needs. Will definitely recommend!
All our dishes were finger licking good

My youngest recommended we go to this restaurant. To start if the coffee is delicious...its going to be an awesome breakfast...and It Was. I am from East Texas and was wondering how the biscuits & gravy were going to taste. Loved that they had more than enough chunks of sausage! All our dishes were finger licking good. The restaurant was very well decorated and had a homey chic vibe. There was no rushing even after we had finished our meals. We had a very pleasant and satisfying experience ☺
Wow, what a quaint little gem!R Flores
Service is fantastic, fast and friendly, and the food is freshly made and flavorful. The portions are just right! Had breakfast at 9AM and didn't get hungry again till nearly 5PM! The restaurant is clean and tidy, fresh flowers on the tables are something I haven't seen before, at least at most of the places I frequent! Will be back again!

Great cozy breakfast place. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Like the fact that they have half portion options for pancakes and waffles. Great for those light eaters.

Went for lunch on Mothers Day. Busy but still staff was very attentive. We were table of 4 all ordering something different. Everyone loved their selection. Very tasty and reasonable priced. The atmosphere is very nice. This was our first time eating there and we plan to visit many more times in the future.
What a hidden gem!

We tried this place again, their brunch which was recommended. Be aware, it is a popular spot for brunch on the weekends. Food and service were fantastic! What a hidden gem! You walk in a quaint and beautifully decorated restaurant hidden in the middle of a small plaza. Great tasting food at a reasonable price! We each ordered something different and each dish was fantastic. The service was great! The young man that seated us, the young lady that served us and the owner were polite, helpful and friendly! We will be back at a different time of the day to try on the other menus.
If I could give this place 10 stars I would!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! The service was incredible, the environment was cozy, and the breakfast I had was soooooo good! I even loved the coffee. And you absolutely can’t beat the prices! I let the waiter choose what I should order and he didn’t steer me wrong. The migas are killer!! They have such an interesting flavor that I was addicted to. I can’t wait to return here on my next visit to the area!
